About: A DC native, Xavier Pryce is a self proclaimed hood philosopher who knows the streets all too well. "Naturally at a young age I was drawn to the hood side of life so that is where I stayed most of my teenage years. I was attached to the drama, the smokin' and the drinkin', fightin', shootin', stealin'…I was drownin' myself at one point in time, but I came to the light earlier than most. I grew up quick and finally stopped all of that."
Xavier left the street life to fulfill his true passion – music – something that literally flows through his veins. His family includes a long lineage of musicians including legendary Jazz pianist and composer Thelonious Monk.
Combining his undeniable talent with his life experiences on his sophomore album, The Black Rose, Xavier immediately draws you in and keeps you wanting more. Heavily influenced by the likes of Bob Marley, Nas, Curtis Mayfield, and Outkast, Xavier Pryce's style is an interesting, yet carefully crafted blend of Hip Hop and Soul. Lady Killer is scheduled to be released in 2010. Producers like Mr. Fingaz Got Beats (Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, DMX, Ja. Rule, Busta Ryhmes) and new comer Obey City create the musical landscape for what Xavier calls "The Pryce X-perience" which translates into his stellar stage show.
