Each band member brings individual strengths, ethnicities, and divergent influences which combine to break rules with a big sound. While Kongcrete and its "Ghetto Rock" are new, each band member was an accomplished musician in other successful bands before they formed Kongcrete. Kongcrete originally began with a shared vision between Taiwo "FullMetal MC" D'Aguilar (vocalist) and Jack "EvildoG" Jankowicz (guitarist), but it did not crystallize until the arrival of Jeff To (bass) and Gene D. Williams (drums) late in 2004. Since then, Kongcrete has created ground-breaking material and has been gradually developing a strong fan base through their performances in New York City's respected venues such as CBGB, Don Hills, Arlene's Grocery, Remote Lounge, Wild Spirits, and The Pyramid.
