About: “ Kids Totally Rock !” is the debut album from Jimmy G Pop that “gets the groove on” for kids up to 99 years old…its genius is the smorgasbord of styles from high energy rock to acoustic ballads…not to mention the zaniness of Jimmy G Pop’s vocal impressions that include an “elvis” skunk ( I Stink ! ) and a Chihuahua King ( I’m Totally Chihuahua ). Let the listener beware…these tunes are sticky! One listen and you’ll be singing like a Chihuahua too!
The CD includes a 32 page full color insert that has the look and feel of a best selling Children's Book…beautifully illustrated by Darren Gygi. Jimmy G Pop includes lyrics, photos, and real life examples of important values from the lives of Christopher Reeve, FDR, Edison, Oprah and even his own mom! ( My Mummy Rocks…and dedicated to all Mommies everywhere! )
Hi ! I’m Jimmy G Pop and I created Kids Totally Rock ! to help fill a need I see in music for children….namely music that captures the heart and imagination of elementary school aged kids while entertaining and connecting the entire family together. With my rhythmic style and sometimes off-the-wall humor my mission is to foster childhood and promote creativity in our younger generation…in other words allow kids to be kids. In addition, my music focuses on important positive values like achieving high goals and having faith in a bright future. Kids Totally Rock ! is set for public release April 10, 2008. Performances of the highly entertaining Kids Totally Rock ! unplugged and Jimmy G Pop and the Phat Cats ( 5 piece band ) are now being scheduled for the summer 2008 concert season.
Kids Totally Rock ! was produced by Tyler Monks and mastered by Larry DeVivo, with studio musicians including Joel Stevenett (Jodee Messina, SHeDaisy, American Music Awards, Jay Leno ), Rod Riley (Shawn Camp, Ricky Van Shelton, CMA Awards, Letterman, Leno ) and Scot Alexander ( Dishwalla ). Jimmy G Pop is planning a Spanish language release of Kids Totally Rock ! in fall 2008 along with the development of a Spanish-English formatted live show. New material for a follow-up CD release for first quarter 2009 is in pre-production.
As Jimmy G Pop says, “ My music is designed to be fully appreciated when experienced live…lots of laughs, lots of dancing, a little bit of magic and a whole lot of fun for the entire family. My hope is that we will never lose the ‘kid’ inside us all. Children remind us of simpler times and the need to believe in dreams and look for the good in everything. My music is designed to be enjoyed by everyone no matter our physical age. Hopefully you’ll laugh, ‘ wiggle, giggle and shake some jiggle’ as you experience my songs. And just maybe you’ll find your ‘kid’ again, especially the one in your soul that makes life more simple and lot happier. “
